Community Impact

For more than 45 years, CBL has been committed to making positive contributions to the communities in which we work and live. Through a long-standing partnership with United Way, our employee-directed giving program, corporate charitable giving, matching gifts, and through donations of time, our team contributed nearly $170,000 to a wide range of organizations doing critical work in the communities we serve.

Through events like United Way's Day of Caring and CBL's annual United Way Workplace Campaign, our CBL Cares volunteer hours program, and other company-sponsored volunteer opportunities CBL's team clocked more than 1,130 volunteer hours in 2024. CBL's collective community impact through charitable giving and volunteerism in 2024 is valued at over $170,000.

In addition to our corporate-driven initiatives, our properties play an integral role in the communities they serve by partnering with area non-profits to raise awareness and funds throughout the year.

  • In 2024, West County Center in St. Louis, Missouri, hosted The Giving Machines, raising nearly $175,000 over the 12-day period the machines were onsite at the property.
  • At East Towne Mall in Madison, Wisconsin, the team partnered with the Wisconsin Art Education Association to display student artwork during Youth Art Month in March. The exhibit served as the State Finals, displaying artwork from elementary to high school aged students.

2025 Goals:

  • Increase the number of volunteer hours used by CBL team members.
  • Increase contributions to our United Way campaign.
  • Seek out new partnerships with organizations that align with our values.
